A common economic language for AI

The Market for
AI Compute.

AI is consumed through many models, each with its own token economics. We propose a common standard—and a market around it—to connect that fragmented consumption.

Understand costs. Model the business. Buy and sell AI on a common basis.

One Business Input.
A Fragmented Market.

Businesses consume AI, but buy it through model-specific tokens, provider-specific prices, and hardware-specific capacity. Every model has its own economics—and the mix keeps changing.

Bills measure spending. Native tokens measure individual models. A common economic unit could connect consumption, cost-benefit analysis, and planning as models and prices change.

Why the gap remains

Different tools.
The same missing denominator.

Access & routing

API aggregators.

A shared interface simplifies access and routing. It does not, by itself, give different model tokens a common economic denomination.

Hardware capacity

GPU markets & futures.

A GPU contract prices specified hardware capacity. It does not follow the changing models and token costs through which AI is consumed.

Bills & budgets

Spend tools & credits.

Bills and prepaid credits organize expenditure. They do not define a market-wide, usage-linked unit for AI consumption.

These tools alone do not give the following questions one common basis
01 / Model consumption

How does spend change as usage grows and the model mix shifts?

02 / Compare cost & benefit

Is a model’s higher cost worth the additional value to our business?

03 / Plan through change

How do we budget and commit without freezing today’s choices?

What could give these questions a shared economic language?

A common token denomination

A New Universal Standard
for AI Token Denomination.

We propose a solution to this market gap: a generic economic token in which the costs of other model tokens can be expressed.

Ground the reference in aggregate market usage and model-token prices. As models enter, leave, and gain share, the basis evolves. Analysis and contracts can use the same economic language.

Many native tokens

Different model economics.

Different token prices, usage, and cost profiles.

One economic language

A common token.

A denomination for expressing the cost of any qualifying model’s tokens.

A shared basis

Model it.
Compare it.
Transact in it.

The same unit connects business analysis, procurement, and a market.

Universal in method, explicit in scope. The standard can cover a broad market or a defined segment; each application specifies which models qualify.

Our proposal

CCBT Is the Denomination.
Standard Basis Is the Market.

Two complementary pieces: a standard for the economic unit, and a company building the indexing, brokerage, and market infrastructure around it.

The denomination & mathematical standard

CCBT

Common Compute Basis Tokens

A proposed universal denomination. Its reference price combines qualifying model-token prices, weighted by their shares of aggregate market consumption. The basis follows the market—not one buyer’s basket.

Standard Basis

The market built around the common basis

The company developing maintained CCBT indices and a two-sided market. Its initial commercial focus is brokerage: standardizing requests, comparing provider offers, and structuring transactions.

Understand the market
The link between the two

Standard CCBT indices.

Each index applies the general CCBT standard to a defined market: its qualifying models, price and usage observations, calculation rules, and model-specific conversion prices.
